Instructions to apply for individual or family coverage with Blue Shield of California:

After entering Blue Shield website through the link above follow instructions to register on the website and create a user name and password.
You can save the application and return to complete it another time if you wish.
The initial premium payment can be made a credit card charge - or you can choose to have Blue Shield bill you.
All future premium payments can be either monthly automatic bank draft, monthly or quarterly direct bill.
